There is nothing more important than a foundation when you are constructing a house. Without a solid foundation that will stand the test of time, you have nothing. Paul uses that analogy when he writes to the Ephesians concerning their spiritual lives. He says, Ephesians 2:20 (NIV), “built on the foundation of the apostles and prophets, with Christ Jesus himself as the chief cornerstone.”
We no longer have the foundational ministry of the apostles and prophets. They were God’s spokespeople specifically chosen, amongst other things, to formulate His word. What we do have today is the Bible – the word of God. It is the book that gives us a solid foundation that we can build our lives upon. It points us to Jesus “the chief cornerstone” who holds everything together. It tells us, through faith in Him, how we can have our sin forgiven and also stand firm as we encounter the storms of life.
Jesus said in John 10:10 (NIV), “... I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full.” I like the way the (NLT) puts it, “My purpose is to give them a rich and satisfying life.” If we want to have a truly “rich and satisfying life ” in a meaningful and lasting sense – then look no further – Jesus is the answer!
God bless you my friends and may His grace encourage you this day – Pastor Ralph
I also want to thank Allie for setting up the website for the church, for all the work she has done to make the blogs and podcast run smoothly.
She gives so much of herself for the church to see it work smoothly. We need to give her a huge thank you for her sacrifices and pray for her as she struggles with very serious health issues.
Thank you very much Pastor Ralph.Your daily inspirational blogs are well received and give us food for thought as we have all this time on our hands.
All the Best to You and your Family and God Bless.
