O Come!

Today, we end our reflections for 2020. Starting on Tuesday, they will be replaced with daily, Advent readings, from Tuesday, December 1st to Christmas Day, Friday, December 25th. I hope and pray you will join in and use these readings as a device to encourage both you and your families as we anticipate, once again, the coming of the Lord Jesus Christ. They include a scripture verse, a small reflection and a prayer. They are designed for your encouragement and worship. I am looking forward to doing this simple and quick exercise with my family.

I would like to close off this year by thanking all who have logged in, weekly, to read the reflections we have produced. Much prayer, thought and insight have gone into them with the sincerest desire to glorify God and to encourage and help people through these Covid times. To all who have shown their appreciation, I say thank you. Your encouragement and love has meant so much to me. I look forward to 2021, when we start them again. We will take a small break over Christmas and New Year’s.

And finally, I say thank you to Allie. You are a wonderful and caring follower of Christ who has done so much for the Kingdom. Your editing and productions skills are marvellous. Along with all you have been dealing with, in your health, you have shown up and helped. Thank you honey. I love you!

As we head into the Christmas Season I call us, “The Faithful” (an old term for Christians) to “Come and Adore Him!” This ancient hymn calls us to scripture, to the Nicene Creed and to the rich traditions and theology of the Church. It is a beautiful hymn set in solid theology. There are twenty imperatives in this hymn, sixteen of them are captured in the word "come". So as we enter the Advent Season, let us “come”, once again, to the manger and marvel at the love of God sending His Son.

O come, all ye faithful, joyful and triumphant!

O come ye, O come ye, to Bethlehem

Come and behold Him. Born the King of Angels

O come, let us adore Him

O come, let us adore Him

O come, let us adore Him Christ the Lord!

God of God, Light of Light

Lo, He abhors not the Virgin's womb

Very God Begotten, not created

O come, let us adore Him

O come, let us adore Him

O come, let us adore Him Christ the Lord!

Sing, choirs of angels, sing in exultation

Sing, all ye citizens of heaven above!

Glory to God All glory in the highest

O come, let us adore Him

O come, let us adore Him

O come, let us adore Him Christ the Lord!

Yea, Lord, we greet Thee, born this happy morning

Jesus, to Thee be glory given

Word of the Father Now in flesh appearing

O come, let us adore Him

O come, let us adore Him

O come, let us adore Him Christ the Lord!

May God richly bless you this day

Love - Pastor Ralph
