“I am crucified with Christ: and it is no longer I who live, but Christ who lives in me” (Galatians 2:20 (KJV)).
Today, I want to share this beautiful prayer. Maybe you would like to read it aloud and talk about it and then, together, recite it. It reminds us that Christ comes into our hearts (lives, our personhood) at the moment of faith and then challenges our hearts each day to reign. It is a beautiful prayer. May it warm your heart, this day, with His peace.
Prayer:
My Heart, Your Manger
“Like the stable in which you lay,
my heart is simple, frail as hay.
But if you would within me stay,
Make my heart your manger, I pray.
Make my world your Bethlehem,
centerpieced with heaven’s Son.
Make this night a shepherd’s sky,
quickened bright with holy dawn.
Rush the air with cherub wings.
Brush this earth. Let angels sing.
A glimpse of your face. A taste of your grace.
Be born in this place. I pray.
Amen”
